North Transfer Station Location & Hours

  • Address: 1350 N 34th St, Seattle, WA 98103
  • Hours:
    • 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM, 7 days a week
    • 10:00 AM – 5:30 PM on the first Wednesday of each month
    • Closed on: Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, New Year’s Day, and the 4th of July

Current Dumping Fees at Seattle North Transfer Station (2025)

  • Per-Ton Rate: $165 per ton

Clean Yard Waste & Clean Wood Waste:

  • Minimum Fee: $24 per trip (covers up to 380 pounds)
  • Per-Ton Rate: $125 per ton

Vehicle Tires (Limit 4 per load):

  • $15 per load

Appliances (Non-commercial, empty refrigerators with doors removed):

  • $32 per appliance (limit 2 per load)
  • $9 per appliance + tonnage rate for other materials

Unsecured Load Fee:

  • $5 if under 1 ton
  • $10 if over 1 ton

Household Hazardous Waste & Sharps:

  • Free – Limited to household sharps in puncture-proof containers

Recycling & Reuse Building

  • Accepts electronics (TVs, computers, monitors, and small electronics), bicycles, scrap metal, plastic and glass bottles, cans, paper, and cardboard at no charge.
  • Other Accepted Items: Automotive oil and filters (5-gallon limit), car batteries, alkaline batteries, and sharps/syringes (must be in puncture-proof containers).
  • Drop-off location: Enter the transfer station, pass the pay booths, and turn right into the Recycling and Reuse Building.

Education & Viewing Room

  • Overlooks daily transfer station operations and features interactive exhibits on recycling and waste management.
  • Open from 10 AM – 3 PM, ADA-accessible.
